WWE Raw advertised main event and special guest host (correspondents needed), TNA Impact tapings with four tournament matches, WWE Smackdown/ECW house show tonight, John Cena, Rick Steiner, Butch Reed, and more
Aug 31, 2009 - 09:05 AM |
-WWE Raw takes place tonight in Detroit, Mich. at Joe Louis Arena. The only thing announced for this week's show is that Dusty Rhodes will be the special guest host. They have not announced any matches for the television show.
-WWE is advertising DX and John Cena vs. Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase as the main event. I suppose it's possible they could go with that match on television, but it's more likely to be a dark match main event since they are advertising this match for future Raw events. We are looking for correspondents who can provide us with details on the WWE Superstars and dark matches. If you are going to this show or tomorrow night's Smackdown taping and can help us out, please send a note to dotnetjason@gmail.com.
-We are also looking for correspondents for tonight's TNA Impact tapings in Orlando, Fla. The company will be taping three weeks of television over the next two days. They have announced four matches for the show and they are all tournament matches that will determine the two wrestlers who will join Matt Morgan in challenging Kurt Angle in a four-way match for the TNA Title at the No Surrender pay-per-view on Sept. 20. If you attend the tapings and can help with a report, please use the address listed above.
-The WWE Smackdown/ECW crew is in Canton, Oh. tonight for a house show event. The advertised main event is C.M. Punk vs. Chris Jericho in a No. 1 contenders match. Um, obviously the house show advertising is a bit dated at this point. They are still advertising Rey Mysterio for the show despite the fact that he is serving a 30-day suspension. As always, we are looking for house show reports at dotnetjason@gmail.com.
-John Cena will be appearing on USA Network's "Psych" show in 2010. He's already filmed his scenes and you can check out the photos at WWE.com.
-There is a loaded lineup for the Nov. 21 WWX event in Hoisington, Ks. The show will feature Hardcore Holly, Rick Steiner, Jerry Lynn, and Butch Reed. For more information, check out the group's Myspace Page.
-The AWA show is not advertised for today on ESPN Classic. It will return on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. CT. Check back tomorrow for the list of matches.
