WWE Superstars main event, A.J. Styles announcement on TNA Imapct, indy show to be broadcast live on the internet, WWE Smackdown dark match results, Al Snow vs. Jerry Lynn in the Twin Cities, Iron Sheik, AWA on ESPN Classic
By Jason Powell Aug 20, 2009 - 09:08 AM

-WWE Superstars is headlined by Mark Henry vs. Chris Masters. It's a strange choice for a main event given that neither wrestler is currently advertised for the SummerSlam show. I'll post the full lineup for the show later this morning. Dot Net contributor Chris Shore is covering the 7 p.m. CT airing of the show live tonight, so check back and watch along with him.

-The bulk of the hype for tonight's TNA Impact show is geared toward A.J. Styles making a major announcement. I'll post the rest of the advertised lineup on the main page later today. I will be covering Imapct live tonight, so stop back and watch along with me or just check in for my report later tonight or on Friday morning.

-Dot Net Members are listening to the 62-minute Q&A Audio in which I answer their wrestling questions. You can gain instant access to all Dot Net Audio for only $5 per month by visiting the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.

-In a dark match held after the WWE Smackdown taping on Tuesday in Kansas City, Jeff Hardy defeated C.M. Punk in a cage match to retain the World Hvt. Championship. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Jimmy Smith]

-Fog City Wrestling returns to the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, calif. on Aug. 22. There will be a Justin.TV broadcast of the event beginning at 4:00 p.m. CT that can be viewed on FogCityWrestling.com.

-Jerry Lynn vs. Al Snow headlines the Sept. 26 F1rst Wrestling show at First Avenue in Minneapolis, Minn. The rest of the advertised lineup is as followed: Midwest Ground and Air in a tag team match, Pete Huge vs. Horace The Psychopath, Arya Daivari vs. Big Brody Hoofer, Arik Cannon vs. Ryan Cruz vs. two other wrestlers in a "special fan appreciation match, Rob James vs. Cpl. Julio Julio, Mike Barker vs. Venom. For more information on the show, check out the promotion'sFacebook Page.

-The Iron Sheik will be inducted into the ISPW Hall of Fame at the indy group's show on Saturday night in Freehold, N.J. Crowbar, Julio Dinero, Nunzio, and Danny Doring are among the wrestlers advertised for the show, which will help raise money for muscular dystrophy. For more information, check out ISPWLive.com.

-The following matches are listed for the 10:00 p.m. airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: RPMs and Cactus Jack vs. The Guerrero Brothers, Ron Garvin vs. Greg Gagne, Rock-n-Roll Express vs. Stud Stable, Sgt. Slaughter vs. Col. DeBeers. The show was taped on December 27, 1987.
