TNA goes live on Spike TV tonight, WrestleMania weekend help needed, Al Snow, Jerry Lynn, Mr. Fuji
Mar 27, 2008 - 08:30 AM

-TNA Impact goes live on Spike TV for the first time tonight. The show is built around Sting’s return, and Kurt Angle taking on A.J. Styles and Tomko. The match was originally built up as an MMA-style training session, but the advertising on the TNA website does not mention the training aspect. As always, I’ll have “live coverage” of the TNA show later tonight, so feel free to watch along with me.

-I’m looking for reports from all WrestleMania 24 weekend events. Whether you attend the block party or the video game competition or the pay-per-view itself, please send in a report. The same goes for the TNA tapings and the ROH shows being held in Orlando this weekend. Send the reports to dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-Today’s WrestleMania 24 Poll: Who will win the World Hvt. Title match between Edge and Undertaker? To case your vote, click here.

-Poll results: Kane was a landslide winner in the battle royal with 46 percent of the vote. Nine percent of the voters picked Tommy Dreamer, while “Other” received nine percent as well. Great Khali was the only other option to receive more than seven percent of the vote.

-Dot Net reader Ken Boyer sent in the news that you can actually place bets on WrestleMania 24. I’m not advocating the idea, nor am I endorsing the website in question, as I’ve never done business with them before. Having said that, here are the favorites (announced winner is final) as listed by Oddsmaker.com. By the way, the maximum bet is $50.

WWE Title: Even odds on Triple H, Randy Orton, and John Cena.

World Hvt. Title match: Undertaker favored over Edge.

Shawn Michaels is favored to beat Ric Flair.

Big Show and Floyd Mayweather have even odds.

Batista is favored to beat Umaga.

Finlay is favored over JBL.

Great Khali is favored to win the battle royal.

Chris Jericho and MVP are the favorites to win the MITB match.

Daily Nuggets

-F1rst Wrestling will be running First Avenue in Minneapolis on Friday night with Jerry Lynn vs. Al Snow in the main event. The rest of the card features Pete Huge vs. Brody Hoofer in a dog collar match, Arik Cannon vs. Rob James, Aaron Corbin vs. Darin Corbin, Arya Daivari vs. Ryan Cruz, The Prophet vs. Kamikaze Klecker, Cody O’Neill vs. Joey Envy, Bret O’Brien and Venom vs. Benjamin Sailer and Nate Bush. By the way, Arya is the younger brother of former WWE wrestler Shawn Daivari.

-Fans of women’s wrestling will be thrilled to know that Shimmer Volumes 1-6 are available for just $4.99 through BigVisionEntertainment.com. Other deals include GLOW’s Greatest TV Moments, the ChickFight Collection, and World Wrestling Network’s Vixens.

-Mr. Fuji will be holding a seminar and a BBQ on Apr. 13 in conjunction with Power and Glory Wrestling. I have no idea if Fuji’s BBQ will be anything like the old dinner parties he had back in the day, but you can probably find out more at PowerAndGlorywrestling.com.

-Tonight’s AWA on ESPN lineup: Brad Rheingans vs. Steve Regal (not WWE’s William Regal) for the Lt. Hvt. Title, Little Mr. T vs. Little Tokyo, The Long Riders and Harley Race vs. Jumbo Tsruta and Giant Baba and Great Tenryu, Stan Hansen vs. Rick Martel for the AWA Title.
