WWE Smackdown/ECW tapings tonight in New York (correspondents needed), Sirius radio appearance, TNA contract note, WWE returning to Denver for the first time since the Debacle, AWA on ESPN Classic twice today

-The WWE Smackdown/ECW tapings take place tonight in Long Island, N.Y. at Nassau Coliseum. Jeff Hardy is advertised for the show after taking a rare weekend off the house shows. There are no dark matches advertised for the show on the arena website. Barring an unexpected switch, we will have live coverage of the Smackdown and ECW tapings tonight, but we are still looking for additional reports. If you can help, contact me at dotnetjason@gmail.com.
-I will be appearing on the "Busted Open" radio show on Sirius satellite radio at 3:30 p.m. CT along with hosts Dave LaGreca and Doug Mortman. I had fun with the guys last time and I'm looking forward to appearing on the show again today.

-Shawn Daivari (a/k/a Sheik Abdul Bashir) posted a blog last month that disputed reports that he inked a new three-year deal with TNA. He implied that he signed on for one year, but did not rule out a longer working relationship with the company. The original report came from Jeremy Borash's Twitter page, so I assume there was simply some miscommunication. You can check out Daivari's blog at ShawnDaivari.com.
-WWE returning to Denver for the first time since the "Debacle" has generated some buzz in the area. A WWE spokesman told the AP that the Aug. 7 house show at the Denver Coliseum will feature four title matches. Of course, the scheduling conflict occurred with the Pepsi Center. You can read the article at 9news.com.
-The following matches are listed for the 2:00 p.m. CT airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: Hernandez vs. Larry Zbyszko, Davey Richards vs. Stan Hansen, Col. DeBeers vs. Curtis, The Sheik and Boris Zhukov vs. Midnight Rockers.
-The following matches are listed for the 10 p.m. CT airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: Tommy Jammer vs. Gust, Jonnie Stewart vs. Spike Jones, Sgt. Slaughter vs. Tom Burton, Destruction Crew vs. Carlson and Bennett, The Trooper vs. W.T. Jones, Candi Devine vs. Magnificent Mimi for the AWA Women's Title.
