Updated WWE Smackdown main event (correspondents needed), TNA Impact taping, ECW on Syfy, Ric Flair and Harley Race, match listings for two AWA on ESPN Classic shows
Jul 21, 2009 - 09:00 AM |
-WWE Smackdown takes place tonight in Richmond, Va. The locally advertised main event of the show is a cage match between C.M. Punk and Jeff Hardy. MyNetwork TV issued a press release regarding that match, so it appeared to be more than just a dark match main event. However, it was announced on Monday's Raw that the real main event of the television show is Punk vs. Rey Mysterio. Got all that?
-We are looking for correspondents who attend tonight's taping. If you can file a report on the Smackdown, ECW, and WWE Superstars taping, please contact me right away at dotnetjason@gmail.com.
-ECW tonight is headlined by the Abraham Washington show. He'll be interviewing Tommy Dreamer and Christian regarding their title match at Sunday's WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view.
-TNA is taping more television in Orlando, Fla. tonight. As always, we are looking for a regular correspondent. If you attend TNA shows, please email me at the address listed above.
-Dot Net is now on Twitter. Sign up for regular updates at Prowrestlingnet (the dot is not included in the name). Get brief news with quick links to major stories by visiting Twitter.com/prowrestlingnet.
-Ric Flair and Harley Race will be sitting down for a Q&A session at the NWA Wrestling Legends Fanfest Weekend in Charlotte, N.C. on Aug. 6-9. For more information on the event, check out the group's Facebook Page.
-OCW has a show loaded with old NWA names scheduled for Aug. 1 in Barboursville, W. Va. on Aug. 1. The advertised lineup features Kamala, Shark Boy, Buddy Landel, Jimmy Valiant, and Rory McAllister. Best of all, it's a free show that's being held at the Dutch Miller Kia auto dealership at 6400 Rt. 60 East in Barboursville.
-The following matches are listed for the 2:00 p.m. CT airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: Col. DeBeers vs. Sanchez, Curtis and Renslow vs. Greg Gagne and Jerry Blackwell, Princess Jasmine vs. Sherri Martel.
-The following matches are listed for the 10 p.m. CT airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: Nikita Koloff vs. Tom Burton, Larry Zbyszko vs. Carlson, The Trooper vs. Jones, Destruction Crew vs. D.J. Peterson and Brad Rheingans for the AWA Tag Titles.
