-UFC 100 takes place on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nev. The show is headlined by Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir for the UFC Hvt. Championship. It should be a great show and is expected to be the most watched pay-per-view event in UFC history. I'm picking Lesnar to avenge his only loss by grounding and pounding Mir, just as he was doing in their first fight before the referee stood them up. Lesnar wins via TKO in round three.
-WWE Smackdown is headlined by Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Title. It's a hot main event and it will be fun to see if they can deliver another strong match. Chris Shore will be covering the show live tonight, so feel free to watch along with him. Marvin Hermanstyne will be sending his report later tonight.
-Rich Twilling and I will be recording the Dot Net Weekly audio show later today. We'll run through all the latest news with commentary on the Jeff Hardy contract situation, Ric Flair's status with WWE and ROH, the renewed emphasis on the WWE Divas division, and more. -The TNA crew has a full slate of house shows this weekend. They'll be in Hamilton, Ont. tonight, Hamburg, N.Y. on Saturday, and in Syracuse, N.Y. on Sunday. If you attend these events, please send a report to dotnetjason@gmail.com.
-Ring of Honor is back on HDNet on Saturday night with Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brent Albright in a flag match. Rich Twilling will handle the live coverage on Saturday.
-Former NFL executive Jim Connelly signed on with WWE to serve as the Senior VP of Consumer Products. His first day on the job will be July 13 and he will oversee the company's global licensing, home entertainment, and publishing businesses, according to WWE.com.
