Edge injury note, WWE Raw headlined by a WrestleMania rematch, new gimmick for a WWE wrestler, TNA Hard Justice announcement, TNA Spin Cycle, AWA on ESPN Classic info
By Jason Powell Jul 6, 2009 - 09:05 AM

-For those of you who were away from your computers over the holiday weekend, Edge suffered what was originally diagnosed as a torn Achilles tendon during a match in San Diego on Friday. His match with Jeff Hardy was stopped abruptly and he required help to get backstage

There's no word yet on how long he'll be out of action or how WWE intends to explain his injury on television. Keep in mind that Edge is one-half of the Unified Tag Champions with Chris Jericho, so it will be interesting to see how they go about taking the titles away from the duo.

-Tonight's pre-taped WWE Raw is headlined by the Triple H vs. John Cena match with the winner challenging Randy Orton at the Night of Champions pay-per-view. The show was taped after last week's live Raw in San Jose. Check the main page shortly for a full list matches or the full spoilers for tonight's show. I'll be covering the show tonight as if it were live, so you are encouraged to watch along with me.

-TNA has announced that the Hard Justice pay-per-view will take place on Aug. 16 in Orlando, Fla. The pay-per-view poster features a shot of Mick Foley holding a barbwire baseball bat. [Thanks to Devin Cutting of ProwrestlingEvents.tk for multiple items in this update.]

-The latest edition of "The Spin Cycle" features host Jeremy Borash with the four-man panel of Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Jim Cornette, and Don West. You can watch the show at Youtube.com.

-A Dot Net reader sent news regarding the new character that Jesse (of Jesse and Festus fame) has been playing during the Cryme Tyme "Word Up" segments. Apparently, Jesse has been playing a gangsta rap character and this isn't the first time he's used the character. The anonymous reader reports: "Back when Deep South was still a developmental territory, he was doing the gimmick as part of a tag team known as Ebony & Ivory (his partner was Damien Steele, who played a socialite character).

-Thanks to Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com for continuing to feature Dot Net on his website's newsfeed.

-TNA has announced that they will be holding a house show in San Angelo, Tex. on Aug. 28. Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Team 3D, and Sarita are already advertised. Tickters go on sale July 17.

-There is an AWA show listed for tonight at 10 p.m. CT. However, there are no matches listed. There has been an afternoon showing recently, it's not listed on the schedule this time around.
