A possible clue regarding the WWE Title match at WrestleMania 24, plus Kelly Kelly, Jonny Fairplay, Goldy Locks
By Jason Powell Mar 19, 2008 - 08:45 AM

-WWE may have mistakenly provided a clue as to which wrestler is not going to win the WWE Title at WrestleMania 24. The company is advertising Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. Umaga in a triple threat match for the WWE Title for the May 22 house show in Hamilton, Ont. Note that John Cena is not listed in match. Of course, WWE likes to throw out red herrings at this time of the year, so we probably shouldn’t read too much into that. For what it’s worth, Hunter’s name is listed first among the three wrestlers.

The rest of the house show lineup features Chris Jericho vs. Snitsky for the Intercontinental Title, Maria and Candice Michelle vs. Katie Lea and Beth Phoenix. One can only assume that the ad for the show was put together after Jeff Hardy’s suspension since he’s not advertised. [Thanks to Devin Cutting]

-WrestleMania 24 Poll: We’re only 11 days away from big event, so today begins the WrestleMania match polls. Let’s see how the Dot Net readers can predict the outcome of the various WrestleMania matches. The question is who do you think will win, not how would you book the match. Let’s get it started with the Finlay vs. JBL Belfast Brawl match. You’ll find a variety of possible match outcomes on the Dot Net Poll Page.

-37 percent of Dot Net voters felt that Santino Marella stealing Jerry Lawler’s sandwich was the highlight of Monday’s Raw. 19 percent of the voters picked the Cena and Orton vs. the Raw roster match, 18 percent chose Ric Flair vs. Vince McMahon, and nine percent of the voters picked Jericho interviewing Big Show on The Highlight Reel as the highlight of the show. The other segments received only 17 percent of the vote.

Poll reaction: As much as I enjoyed Santino stealing Lawler’s “delicious sandwich,” I thought the Flair vs. Vince match stole the show. I also liked the concept for the main event more than most people seemed to.

Daily Nuggets

-Jonny Fairplay is teaming with Coach Dodson and Chucky Wynn against former “Survivor castmember Billy Garcia, Lance Mcintyre and Mr. Terrific in a six-man tag match on Apr. 5 at Spotswood High in Penn Laird, Va. There are several reality stars scheduled to appear on the show, including Fairplay’s fiance Michelle Deighton. It’s a fundraising event and the proceeds will go to the school’s special needs classroom. Visit the Reality Rumble Myspace Page for more details.

-Former TNA backstage interviewer Goldy Locks and her band will be performing at Club La Vela in Panama City Beach, Fla. on Apr. 11-12. The venue was used for several spring break editions of WCW Nitro in the late ‘90s. [Thanks to Devin Cutting]

-Warning, some of you won’t get much work done today if you visit the new KellyKellyWWE.com. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Angel Aramboles]

-The following matches are scheduled to appear on tonight’s AWA on ESPN Classic show at midnight (CT): Stan Hansen vs. Jerry Lawler for the AWA Title, Ali Khan vs. Earthquake Ferris, J. York vs. Jimmy Snuka, Buddy Rose and Doug Somers and Alexis Smirnoff vs. The Midnight Rockers and Curt Hennigs. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Chris Cutter]

Are you more likely to watch WWE Smackdown because Vince McMahon is advertised?
Yes. Big things tend to happen when Vince is on the show.
No. Advertising Vince won't change my viewing habits.
I'm actually less likely to watch the show because Vince is advertised.
