WWE in Texas and Louisiana (correspondents needed), TNA in Birmingham, Alabama (correspondents needed), Japanese pro wrestling legend retirement match, Tito Santana, William Regal
May 10, 2013 - 09:00 AM

By Jason Powell

-We are looking for correspondents for the WWE and TNA weekend live events. If you are attending one of the shows listed below and want to help, send your report (or basic results) to dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-The WWE Raw crew kicks off its weekend in Shreveport, La. at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum tonight. The advertised talent pool features John Cena, Sheamus, Ryback, Mark Henry, The Shield, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Antonio Cesaro, Kane, and Daniel Bryan.

-The WWE Smackdown crew is in Odessa, Texas at the Ector County Coliseum on Saturday with the following talent pool: Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Damien Sandow, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, The Great Khali, Sweet T, Big E Langston, Brodus Clay, The Bella Twins, AJ Lee, and Zeb Colter. It's worth noting that while Ziggler is still advertised, he is nursing a concussion, so that could change or his involvement could be limited.

-The WWE Raw crew is in Beaumont, Texas at Ford Arena on Saturday with the following advertised matches: John Cena and Sheamus vs. Ryback and Mark Henry. The advertising plays up the fact that Henry is from nearby Silsbee, Texas.

-The WWE Smackdown crew is in Amarillo, Texas at the Amarillo Civic Center. There are no matches advertised.

-The WWE Raw crew closes out the weekend in Fort Worth, Texas at the Fort Worth Convention Center Arena. There are no matches advertised.

-TNA is in Birmingham, Alabama at Boutwell Auditorium tonight with the following advertised lineup: Bully Ray vs. James Storm for the TNA Title, Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim for the TNA Knockouts Title, Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez vs. Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff for the TNA Tag Titles, A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels, Bobby Roode vs. Joseph Park, Rockstar Spud vs. Robbie E.

-Japanese pro wrestling legend Kenta Kobashi is retiring on Saturday at the NOAH show in Tokyo. Kobashi will team with Great Muta, Jun Akiyama, and Kensuke Sasaki to face the team of KENTA, Go Shiozaki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Maybach Taniguchi.

-WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana (a/k/a Merced Solis) is 60 today. He was born on May 10, 1953. Santana continues to make independent appearances. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 by Shawn Michaels.

-WWE star William Regal (a/k/a Darren Kenneth Matthews) is 45 today. He was born on May 10, 1968. Regal worked the recent WWE UK shows.

-There are no pro wrestling shows listed for ESPN Classic this weekend. The AWA and UWF shows will return on Monday night.
