WWE European tour continues (correspondents needed) with the New Age Outlaws, TNA Impact Wrestling TV, Dot Net Weekly audio show, Brooklyn Brawler, Debbie Combs, Gory Guerrero, Wahoo McDaniel
Apr 18, 2013 - 09:00 AM

By Jason Powell

-Tonight's TNA Impact Wrestling television show was taped last week in Corpus Christi, Texas following the live show. Mickie James returns for a match against Miss Tessmacher, and A.J. Styles meets James Storm. Join Chris Shore for live coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT.

-We are looking for correspondents for all of the WWE European tour dates. If you are going to one of the shows on the tour, you are encouraged to send a report to dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-The WWE European tour continues today with the first Smackdown event. The Smackdown crew is in Glasgow, Scotland at Braehead Arena with the following advertised matches: Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger in a No DQ match, plus Sheamus and The New Age Outlaws vs. The Shield in a six-man tag match.

-The WWE Raw crew is in Belfast, Ireland at Odyssey Arena tonight. The advertised main event was John Cena vs. Ryback vs. C.M. Punk in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship, but Punk is no longer advertised for the tour. The only other advertised match is Kane vs. Big E Langston.

-Dot Net Members will be listening to the Dot Net Weekly audio show featuring Jason Powell and Chris Shore discussing all the news of the week later today. The roughly two-hour audio show often features first-run news items and is available exclusive to the members. Join us on the ad-free version of the website by signing up for membership now via the Dot Net Members' Signup Page. Recent audio interviews include former WWE creative team member Court Bauer, Matt Hardy, Justin Credible, and Les Thatcher. Plus, the members listen to roughly six hours of exclusive audio content each week.

-WWE employee Steve "Brooklyn Brawler" Lombardi is 52 today. He was born on April 18, 1961. He began his pro wrestling career back in 1983 and has held a variety of positions behind the scenes for the company. His most recent onscreen appearance took place at the TLC pay-per-view at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn back in December.

-Retired pro wrestler Debbie Combs (a/k/a Debbie Szestecki) is 54 today. She was born on April 18, 1959.

-The late Gory Guerrero (a/k/a Salvador Guerrero Quesada) died on his date in 1990 at age 69 due to liver problems. The longtime pro wrestler is the father of pro wrestlers Eddie, Chavo, Mando, and Hector Guerrero, and the grandfather of TNA Tag Champion Chavo Guerrero Jr.

-The late Wahoo McDaniel (a/k/a Ed McDaniel) died on this date in 2002 at age 63. McDaniel played for the Houston Oilers, Denver Broncos, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins during his AFL football career. He was traded to the San Diego Chargers, but he opted to wrestle full-time instead, having already done so during the football offseasons. He was awaiting a kidney transplant when he died.

-There are no pro wrestling shows listed for ESPN Classic tonight.
