WWE weekend and "Pre Game Pandemonium" shows (correspondents needed), TNA in the Carolinas (correspondents needed), ROH TV taping in Baltimore (correspondents needed), Dennis Condrey, Masa Saito
Feb 1, 2013 - 09:00 AM

By Jason Powell

-We are looking for correspondents for all of the WWE, TNA, and ROH events listed below. If you are going to any of these shows and want to help, contact me at dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-The WWE Raw crew kicks off the weekend live events tonight in Chattanooga, Tennessee at McKenzie Arena. The only advertised match is John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler.

-The WWE Smackdown crew is in Greenville, N.C. on Saturday at ECU Williams Arena. No matches are advertised on the arena website. The Smackdown talent pool this weekend includes Sheamus, Big Show, Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, Wade Barrett, and Layla.

-The WWE Raw crew is in Montgomery, Alabama at Garrett Coliseum on Saturday. There are no matches listed on the arena website. The Raw events this weekend feature Cena, Ziggler, C.M. Punk, The Shield, Ryback, Miz, Antonio Cesaro, Kane, Daniel Bryan, AJ Lee, and Big E Langston.

-The WWE Raw event on Sunday in Birmingham, Ala. is presented as Pre Game Pandemonium, meaning it's a matinee show that won't conflict with the Super Bowl. The same talent pool for Saturday is listed.

-The WWE Smackdown Pre-Game Pandemonium takes place on Sunday in Augusta, Ga. at James Brown Arena with the following advertised matches: Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show for the World Hvt. Championship, Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow, and Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes.

-TNA is in Florence, S.C. at the Civic Center tonight and in Fayetteville, N.C. at Crown Arena on Saturday with the same talent pool for both shows. TNA is advertising a cage match, Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy, Bully Ray, Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez, and Knockouts. TNA is also holding a Gut Check tryout at Saturday's show.

-Ring of Honor is taping television on Saturday night in Baltimore, Maryland at Du Burns Arena. The show will feature the semifinals and finals of the Top Prospect Tournament, and the top advertised match is The Briscoes vs. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin for the ROH Tag Titles. If Haas and Benjamin lose, they must split up and will never be allowed to wrestle in ROH again. If you attend the show, you are encouraged to send a report to dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-Legendary tag team wrestler Dennis Condrey is 61 today. He was born on February 1, 1952. Condrey formed the Midnight Express with Randy Rose and Norvell Austin in 1981. Of course, he went on to have more success using the same name with Bobby Eaton and manager Jim Cornette, though he and Rose did team years later as the Original Midnight Express in the AWA with manager Paul E. Dangerously (a/k/a Paul Heyman) and in a hot feud with Eaton and Stan Lane in WCW.

-Japanese pro wrestling legend Masa Saito is 71 today. He was born on February 1, 1942. I grew up watching Saito work as Mr. Saito in the AWA.
