-The WWE Smackdown taping will be held tonight in Miami, Florida at American Airlines Arena. The show is a homecoming for The Rock, who is making his first WWE appearance in Miami since the Raw that was held the night after WrestleMania 28. Plus, Big Show faces Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. The usual crew of wrestlers are advertised for Smackdown aside from Rock. In other words, C.M. Punk, John Cena, and Ryback, and The Shield are not advertised.

-The WWE Main Event television show will also be taped in Miami tonight. The featured match is Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler.
-Damien Wayne won the NWA National Heavyweight Title by defeating Chance Prophet and Lance Erikson on Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee. Wayne pinned Erikson to capture the gold.
-Former WWE wrestler Chris Masters (a/k/a Chris Mordetzky) is 30 today. He was born on January 8, 1983. Mordetzky showed major in-ring improvement during his last run with WWE. However, he was mostly relegated to secondary television shows and never received a push. I remain surprised that TNA hasn't signed him.
-Former WWE wrestler Bushwhacker Luke Williams (a/k/a Brian Wickens) is 66 today. He was born on January 8, 1947. Williams and longtime tag partner Butch Miller also worked as The Sheepherders for years prior to their WWE run.
-WWE female wrestling legend Bull Nakano (a/k/a Keiko Nakano) is 45 today. She was born on January 8, 1968. She retired wrestling on a full time basis in 1997, though she has worked some matches since then.
-Rey Misterio Sr. (a/k/a Miguel Angel Lopez Diaz) is 55 today. The uncle of WWE star Rey Mysterio was born on January 8, 1955.
