Dec 7, 2012 - 09:00 AM |
By Jason Powell
-TNA Final Resolution takes place on Sunday at the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. The final TNA pay-per-view event of 2012 is headlined by Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Roode for the TNA Title, and AJ. Styles will face Christopher Daniels in what is billed "one final time." Join me for live coverage of TNA Final Resolution as the show airs on Sunday night. Plus, Dot Net members will be listening to my exclusive audio review of Final Resolution on Sunday night. Join us on the ad-free version of the website by signing up for one-month, six-month, or an annual membership via the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.
-Evolve 18 airs on iPPV on Saturday from Voorhees, N.J. with a 4:00 p.m. ET start time. The show is headlined by Johnny Gargano vs. Sami Callihan for the Open The Freedom Gate Title. To order the event, visit WWNLive.com.
-CZW will be holding the Cage of Death 14 iPPV event on Saturday following the Evolve show in Voorhees, N.J. The main event is D.J. Hyde vs. Matt Tremont in a Shattered Dream Cage of Death match. Plus, Masada faces Drake Younger for the CZW Championship. To order the event, visit WWNLive.com.
-Tickets for the TNA Lockdown pay-per-view will go on sale on today. The event will be held on March 10 in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamodome. Ticket prices start at $15.00 and go up to $150. You can order tickets for the show via Ticketmaster.com.
-UFC on FOX airs live Saturday night from the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT. The FOX broadcast is headlined by Benson Henderson vs. Nate Diaz for the UFC Lightweight Championship. Plus, Mauricio Rua faces Alexander Gustafsson, B.J. Penn fight Rory McDonald, and Mick Swick faces Matt Brown. The prelims will be broadcast on FX and feature Yves Edwards vs. Jeremy Stephens as the top fight. The FX broadcast begins at 4:00 p.m. CT. As if that's not enough fighting, there will also be a Facebook fight prior to the FX prelims featuring Scott Jorgensen vs. John Albert.
-WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch is 40 today. She was born on December 7, 1972. Sytch had highly publicized legal issues in recent months and is currently enrolled in a WWE sponsored treatment program. Here's hoping she completes the program and puts this ugly chapter of her life behind her.
-The late Rick Rude (a/k/a Richard Rood) was born on this date in 1958. He died at age 40 on April 20, 1999 due to heart failure caused by an overdose of mixed medications. Rude had a WWE Hall of Fame worthy career in my opinion. It would be nice to see him inducted one of these years. Paul Heyman has spoken very highly of Rude over the years and would be a great candidate to deliver the induction speech.
-Former WWE wrestler Curtis Hughes (a/k/a Mr. Hughes) is 48 today. He was born on December 7, 1964. At last check, Huges was training talent and holding shows in Georgia.
-There are no pro wrestling shows advertised for ESPN Classic tonight. The show will return on Monday night along with classic UWF shows. We'll have the listings available in Monday's Dot Net Daily.
