-The NWA has expanded into the Texas market as World Class Wrestling has joined the alliance. The first show under the new NWA brand will be on October 13 in South Padre Island, Texas, and will feature current NWA World Champion Adam Pearce in what is billed as his "final Texas appearance." No contact information was listed in the press release, nor could I find a website, but if you are in the South Padre Island area and go, let us know how it goes.
-The Internet Wrestling Company (IWC) has announced their first live event on March 30, 2013 in Portland, Oregon. The promotion promises to give fans direct contact to "the creative and production teams." The promotion is looking for talent and says they will use "unknown" talent to build the company. You can get more information at http://internetwrestlingcompany.com/.

-Chris Parks (a/k/a Abyss, Joseph Park) is 39 today. He was born on October 4, 1973.
-Former NWA/WWWF start Chief Jay Strongbow would have turned 74 today. Strongbow won several titles in his career, many in the tag division. He fell in his home in late 2011 and never recovered from his injuries, passing away on April 3, 2012.
-Dragon Gate wrestler Naruki Doi turns 32 today. Doi, who has had successful runs in DGUSA, just saw his former tag team partner PAC signed to a WWE developmental contract, which led to Doi being stripped of the Dragon Gate Open the Triangle Gate Championship.
-Former WWE on-air personality Mike Adamle turns 63 today. The former host of American Gladiators first bombed as a WWE announcer before being shifted to Raw General Manager, where he promptly bombed again. Adamel spent less than one full year with the company, leaving in late 2008.
