-The WWE Smackdown and ECW tapings will take place tonight in Milwaukee, Wisc. at the Bradley Center. The advertised main event is Triple H and Undertaker vs. Great Khali and MVP in what is presumably a dark match. -The heavily hyped TNA video game comes out today. I'm looking for a guest review of the game from an avid video game player who has played past WWE games. If you fit that description, shoot me an email. The game is available at most major retail outlets. The game is selling for $59.99 in the PS3 and Xbox 360 formats on the Best Buy website.

-WWE is releasing the "Life and Times of Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig DVD today. I'm looking forward to this one and I think most people who were watching during his peak years feel the same way. I've heard from a number of friends who are buying the DVD with the hope that all the old Mr. Perfect introductory vignettes are included. Amazon.com lists the price at $19.99.

-"The Wrestler" was purchased by Fox Searchlight for $4 million following a screening at the Toronto Film Festival. Variety notes that there was "an intense all-night bidding war" for the film, which won the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Fest. Read the Variety story by clicking here.

-MSNBC's website has a good article on WWE's attempt to catch on in Japan. "Japanese fans are changing," Sho Funaki told an AP reporter. "The key is to give them more opportunities to watch WWE. -Gail Kim will appear on Booker T's Pro Wrestling Alliance show in Pasadena, Tex. on Sept. 18. Chris Masters and 2 Cold Scorpio are also scheduled for the event.

-Baby Doll, Jimmy Valiant, and Shannon Moore are scheduled to appear at the Power Pro Wrestling show on Oct. 4 in Little River, S.C. [Thanks to Devin Cutting of ProwrestlingEvents.tk for the last two items.]

-Tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic show was taped on April 9, 1986. However, the ESPN website did not list the matches. They go through strange spurts where they'll include all the matches for a long stretch, but their streak ended on Sept. 1. I'll post the matches when/if ESPN starts listing the matches again.
