Mick Foley announcement coming, TNA ratings, WWE developmental news, Marty Garner's quest to get in WWE scores more media attention, WWE cancels house show, Eugene, Meng
Sep 3, 2008 - 09:03 AM |
-Mick Foley is expected to issue a press release via the Gillespie Agency regarding his future. He has already agreed to terms with TNA, and Dot Net previously reported over two weeks ago that Foley told friends in WWE that he has interest in working with Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, and A.J. Styles in some capacity.
-TNA drew a 1.1 rating last week. The exact rating was a 1.05, which is down from the 1.11 rating the show drew the week before. It will be very interesting to see how the rating holds up this week against the first NFL game of the year between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins.
-WWE developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling is running a show on Nov. 15 at the Lee County Civic Center in Fort Myers, Fla. The venue holds 7,800 fans, so this would easily be FCW's biggest venue to date. One can only assume they'll be getting some talent help from WWE with that show. -Marty Garner's quest to secure a WWE contract picked up more media coverage, as his story is featured in the latest edition of Fighting Spirit Magazine.
-WWE cancelled a house show that was scheduled for in Auguascalientes, Mexico on Oct. 17.
-Former WWE wrestler Eugene (a/k/a Nick Dinsmore) is scheduled to appear at the Bruiser Wrestling Federation show on Saturday in Farmville, Va. For more information, visit BWFprowrestling.com.
-Dot Net readers Ross McCutchen is trying to find a tape of Monday's Raw show. He attended the taping on Sunday night, but his TiVo cut out the last 15 minutes. He said he is willing to pay for shipping and would be willing to trade something from his library is someone can help him out. He can be reached at ross_mccutchen@yahoo.com.
-Meng is scheduled to appear in the main event of the Pro Wrestling Fusion event on Saturday in Fort Pierce, Fla. Visit ProWrestlingFusion.com for ticket info.
