-The WWE Smackdown/ECW tapings take place tonight in Moline, Ill. No matches have been announced for the Smackdown taping. All indications are that Edge will not be at the taping now that he's been sent to WWE hell. We should get some clue regarding Triple H's challenger for the September pay-per-view show. The ECW show will feature the rematch between Mark Henry and Matt Hardy for the ECW Title rematch from SummerSlam. They are also advertising that Ricky Ortiz will put his unbeaten streak on the line against a wrestler who will be debuting as part of Teddy Long's new talent initiative. Rich Twilling will be covering the show live tonight, and I'll be by either late tonight or sometime tomorrow with another ECW Hitlist.

-In case you missed it last night, former ROH Champion Takeshi Morishima worked a dark match at the Raw tapings. He was fantastic in ROH and I'd love to see him in WWE if the company was going to feature him properly, but I don't know what type of gimmick creative would come up with for him.

-WWE was originally going to hold a tri-branded TV taping on August 31 in St. Louis, Missouri. However, that event has been changed to a Raw and Smackdown taping. Two episodes of ECW will be taped the previous week. Here's how the schedule looks now:

-Aug. 25 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.: One episode of Raw and one episode of ECW.

-Aug. 26 in Pittsburgh, Pa.: One episode of Smackdown and episode of ECW.

-TNA's Slammiversary DVD debuts today with the main event of Samoa Joe vs. Robert Roode vs. Booker T vs. Rhino vs. Christian in a King of the Mountain match, plus Kurt Angle vs. A.J. Styles, LAX vs. Team 3D, and more. TNA DVDs are available at Best Buy and other major retail outlets.

-Barack Obama and John McCain are still generating publicity for WWE. Dot Net reader Pete Gerber reports: A few weeks ago ObamaFactCheck.com, a website that debunks and verifies rumors about Barack Obama, had Obama's appearance from WWE Raw in April as their featured video on their home page. Now their sister site McCainFactCheck.com, which verifies and debunks rumors about John McCain, has McCain's appearance on WWE Raw as their featured video on their home page.
