WWE Smackdown TV, WWE and TNA weekend (correspondents needed), UFC on FOX, WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Fuji, WWE referee Scott Armstrong, Evolve matches in New York
May 4, 2012 - 09:00 AM

By Jason Powell

-Tonight's WWE Smackdown television show features World Hvt. Champion Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan in a rematch from Extreme Rules. The advertised main event of Randy Orton and Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Kane did not take place. However, Kane and Cody Rhodes team to face Randy Orton and Big Show. Join Ryan Kester for live coverage tonight beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT. Chris Shore and Jake Barnett have the night off, but they will return on Saturday with their weekly All Access podcast.

-UFC airs on FOX on Saturday night from East Rutherford, N.J. The main event of the show is Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller. Plus, Josh Koscheck faces Johnny Hendricks. Of the shows broadcast on FOX, it seems like this one has the least amount of buzz going into the show.

-EVOLVE will matches at Sancho's Cinco De Mayo Fiesta event at Pier 81 on The Hudson River in New York today at noon ET on Saturday. If you attend the Cinco De Mayo event, please send a report to dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-We are looking for correspondents for all of the live events listed below. If you are going to one of these shows and want to help, contact me at dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-WWE is in Huntsville, Alabama at the Von Braun Center tonight. There are no matches listed on the arena website, but the top talent includes C.M. Punk, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, and Mark Henry.

-The WWE Raw crew is in Knoxville, Tenn. at Thompson-Boling Arena on Saturday with C.M. Punk vs. Chris Jericho in a No DQ match for the WWE Championship, and John Cena vs. Mark Henry.

-The WWE Smackdown crew is in Asheville, N.C. at U.S. Cellular Center with Randy Orton, Sheamus, Big Show, Daniel Bryan, Alberto Del Rio, and Christian among the advertised wrestlers.

-The WWE Raw crew is in Chattanooga, Tenn. at McKenzie Arena on Sunday, presumably with the same matches listed for the Saturday show.

-The WWE Smackdown crew is in North Charleston, S.C. at North Charleston Coliseum with Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Hvt. Championship, and Randy Orton vs. Kane in a No DQ match.

-TNA is in Ontario, California tonight, Bakersfield, Calif. on Saturday, and Visalia, Calif. on Sunday with the following matches listed for each show: Bobby Roode vs. Jeff Hardy for the World Hvt. Championship, A.J. Styles vs. Kurt Angle, Mr. Anderson vs. Robie E, Samoa Joe and Magnus vs. Christopher Daniels and Kazarian, Tara vs. Winter for the TNA Knockouts Title, and D'Angelo Dinero vs. Hernandez.

-WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Fuji (a/k/a Harry Fujiwara) is 77 today. He was born on May 4, 1935. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

-WWE referee Scott Armstrong (a/k/a Joseph James, Jr.) is 53 today. He was born on May 4, 1959.

-There are no pro wresting shows listed for ESPN Classic this weekend.
