WWE taping Smackdown/ECW, Mick Foley, Triple H, Kane, TNA ratings, Paul Heyman previews Brock Lesnar's fight with Heath Herring, AWA match listings
Aug 5, 2008 - 09:09 AM

-WWE is taping Smackdown/ECW in Atlanta, Ga. tonight and I am searching for a correspondent who is willing to file a report. If you can help out, please send a note to dotnetjason@gmai.com.

-No word yet on whether Mick Foley will appear on tonight's show. I wouldn't take it as a sign of him leaving the company if he does not appear, as there was talk within the company that he should take off at least one week and perhaps until Summer Slam to sell his angle with Edge from Friday's show.

-Triple H is expected to return at tonight's taping. He was off this weekend to be with his wife and new daughter, but the general assumption is that he will appear at the taping.

-Several readers pointed out that Kane is from Tennessee, which might explain why he received such a babyface reaction on Raw last night.

-WWE is advertising that the first live edition of "The Dirt Sheet" will air on ECW tonight. The guests will be Mark Henry and Matt Hardy.

-TNA posted another 1.1 rating for Thursday's show. Yes, again. Will the number drop now that TNA will be going head-to-head against preseason football games?

-Paul Heyman previewed Brock Lesnar's fight against Heath Herring in his UK Sun blog. "Brock is a driven competitor and he has been 'on himself' every moment since Frank Mir snatched his right leg on February 2 in Las Vegas," Heyman wrote. "In listening to Brock's comments, it's obvious to me that the very dangerous Heath Herring is going to face a determined animal on August 9." To read the rest of Heyman's commentary, visit the UK Sun website.
