-The WWE Smackdown taping takes place tonight in Laredo, Texas at Laredo Energy Arena. Daniel Bryan will face Big Show for the World Hvt. Championship in a no DQ, no countout match. Plus, Sheamus vs. Jinder Mahal was advertised for the television show during last week's taping.

-TNA is taping next week's Impact Wrestling television show tonight in Orlando, Fla. at the Impact Zone. This is the last day of the tapings, but the company will be back on the road on Thursday with a live event in Wallingford, Connecticut.

-Former WWE wrestler Brian Lawler (a/k/a Grand Master Saxay, Brian Christopher) is 40 today. He was born on January 10, 1972.

-Former AWA and Portland star Col. DeBeers (a/k/a Ed Wiskoski) is 67 today. He was born on January 10, 1945.

-Late pro wrestler Pez Whatley was born on this date in 1951. He died on January 18, 2005 when he suffered a heart attack while awaiting a heart transplant.

-Micro Championship Wrestling is in El Paso, Texas at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center on January 19.
