WWE press conference, Vince McMahon angle, Melina injured, Jeff Jarrett news, WWE Smackdown/ECW tapings, WWE ratings, Chris Jericho, AWA match listings
By Jason Powell Jun 24, 2008 - 08:59 AM

-WWE is promising an update on Vince McMahon's condition at the WrestleMania 25 press conference today in Houston. The event is being streamed on the WWE website today at noon (CT). I'll pass along any notable items from the press conference later today.

-Melina suffered a legitimate ankle injury and the finish of her tag match was clearly called on the fly.

-The UK Sun is reporting that Jeff Jarrett will return to the ring before TNA returns to the UK in January. For more information, visit the UK Sun.

-The WWE Smackdown/ECW tapings are being held tonight in Houston. I guess it's safe to assume that Edge won't be banning Matt Hardy on tonight's show since the draft already took care of business for him. Edge made that statement in a WWE Mobile clip that was issued over the weekend.

-Speaking of Smackdown, the show drew a 2.1 overnight rating, which is down from the 2.3 overnight rating the show drew last week. WWE may have helped their cause by advertising an actual match heading into the show.

-The USA Network had a countdown clock during an airing of "The Mummy Returns" that led up to the early Raw start.

-Check back later today for a full podcast rundown of the WWE Draft. I will also be posting the usual WWE Raw Hitlist.

-I had VH1's "I Love the New Millennium" on in the background yesterday and spotted Chris Jericho on the show. As previously noted, Jonny Fairplay is also slated to appear on the show, which airs through Thursday at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (CT).

-The following matches are listed for tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic: Badd Company vs. RMPs, Sgt. Slaughter and Rock-n-Roll Express vs. Col. DeBeers and Soldat Ustinov and Teijo Khan, Tommy Rich vs. Jimmy Valiant, Michael Hayes and Steve Cox vs. Samoan Swat Team, Madusa Miceli vs. Wendy Richter. The show was taped on November 11, 1988.
