Dwayne Johnson's latest movie, Jonny Fairplay wedding video features a wrestler stapling money to his own face, WWE developmental photos, AWA match listings
Jun 20, 2008 - 08:58 AM |
-Dwayne Johnson's "Get Smart" film opens today. He's been hyping it everywhere, yet somehow I forgot about the flick when I wrote a blog the other morning (I added a correction to that blog about 30 minutes later just in case you missed it). Johnson was scheduled to appear on "Good Morning America" this morning.
-Jonny Fairplay appeared on Mancow's radio show on Thursday and promoted next Saturday's Ring of Honor show in. In related news, photos from his wedding are featured in the new edition of US Weekly, which came out yesterday.
Speaking of Fairplay, you can check out video footage of his wedding at YouTube.com. This video features wrestler Mad Man Pondo stapling dollar bills to his own face. No, really.
-WWE's WrestleMania 24 DVD dropped one spot on the Billboard charts to No. 2 this week. It was edged out by an NFL DVD. The Hardys "Twist of Fate" is still in third place and continues to have a hell of a run for the company. WWE's Backlash 2008 is in fourth place, and UFC's "Breaking Point" is in fifth place.
-The Serious Sports Network website wrote a spoof column about the NBA hiring WWE referees. They might be an upgrade. To read the full article, visit SeriousSportsNetwork.com.
-Rob Beukema posted another series of photos from a recent WWE developmental show in Florida. Evan Bourne and Chris Harris are among the wrestlers featured in the photos, which you can check out at Flrankings.com.
-The following matches are listed for tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic show: Col. DeBeers squash, Samoan Swat Team vs. Odyssey and Baxter, Jerry Lawler vs. Adonis, Stud Stable vs. Brickhouse Brown and Bill Dundee, Badd Company and RPMs and Cactus Jack vs. Rock-n-Roll Express and Top Guns and Jeff Jarrett. The show was taped on Oct. 26, 1988.
