-UFC is scheduled to make their big announcement today. No, really. This thing has been postponed several times and was scheduled for yesterday, but it was postponed until noon (ET) today. The delays in the announcement do remind me of Verne Gagne promising every week that there was going to be a major announcement regarding Super Clash or whatever that big show was that he never delivered.

-Juventud Guerrera is up to his old tricks. He has been fired by Mexico's AAA promotion after missing the promotion's Triple Mania event so that he could appear on an Nu-Wrestling Evolution tour. A well-placed source told Prowrestling.net that the feeling of management is that Juvi could have missed the first two days of the NWE tour and appeared on their biggest annual event.

-The latest edition of the "Heyman Hustle" features Paul Heyman eating dinner with famous divorcee Tricia Walsh Smith. She's not the greatest guest, but Heyman does a good job of carrying the segment with his sense of humor, as he recommends that she should sleep with all of her husbands former friends. -UGO.com features an interview with "Ring of Hell" author Matthew Randazzo, who made the following tease for his book: "From World Wrestling Entertainment covering up Smackdown! head writer Dave Lagana trying to extort sex from wrestlers to Paul Heyman openly discussing his drug use to Chris Benoit threatening to mutilate himself on live television in 2000, Ring of Hell breaks numerous stories thanks to the unprecedented access I was given by wrestling insiders across the world." -Old habits die hard. Dot Net Reader Wesley Brooks reports that the marquee in front of Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tenn. lists "World Championship Wrestling, Aug. 2" for the WWE Smackdown house show.
