WWE Raw million dollar giveaway, Heyman hangs with a Youtube fave, new book by longtime WWE employee, J.J. Dillon update, Finlay, AWA match listings

-Tonight is the last Raw before the draft next week. If the creative team is not booking on the fly and actually knows which wrestlers are leaving, they could wrap up some storylines tonight. The show is live from Salt Lake City, Utah. Rich Twilling and I will serve up a double dose of live coverage of the show tonight so feel free to watch along with us, as we'll give you instant feedback on our feelings regarding the various matches and angles.
-Yes, Vince McMahon is giving away one million dollars tonight. The maximum prize this time around is $300,000 and the booby prize is $16. They threw in a trip to New York for the woman who won the two dollar prize on last week's show.
-My cable preview guide lists another million dollars giveaway along with the draft for next week's three hour Raw. There's been plenty of speculation that the giveaway will end this week, so we'll see where it goes. Just think about what Vince could have done with three million dollars. He could have easily attracted another Floyd Mayweather type for that type of coin. How many quality writers could that money have paid for?
-The latest edition of the "Heyman Hustle features Paul Heyman interviewing Trisha Walsh Smith. She's a British actress and playwright, who is garnering publicity for ranting against her soon-to-be ex-husband Phil Smith in some classic Youtube rants. The edition, which is getting play on Hollywood gossip sites, can by viewed by clicking here.
-Former manager and longtime WWE backstage employee Bruno Lauer (a/k/a Downtown Bruno, Harvey Whippleman) authored "Wrestling with the Truth." The book is not published by WWE. Rather, it's available at 1wrestlinglegends.com. Bruno worked in Memphis and has been with WWE for years, so I have high hopes for this book.
-Jim Ross mentioned in his blog over the weekend that J.J. Dillon is currently working as a corrections officer in Delaware. He also noted that Dillon recently had one of his knees replaced, but was getting around well at the Cauliflower Alley Club convention last weekend.
-Dave Finlay Sr. was featured in a good Slam Wrestling article on Sunday. "By the time my son was 10 or 12 years old, he was already doing amateur and professional wrestling," the elder Finlay stated regarding WWE's Dave "Fit" Finlay. "From an early age, he wanted to be a wrestler, so I thought to myself, 'I'm going to teach him the proper way...' By the time he was 18, he was already working in England. The rest is history." To read the full article, which features details on the elder Finlay's lengthy career, visit here.
-The following matches are listed for tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic show: Badd Company squash, Jerry Lawler squash, Col. DeBeers squash, Manny Fernandez vs. Wahoo McDaniel. The show was taped on September 4, 1988.
