WWE Smackdown/ECW tapings, Ric Flair, WWE DVD released today, NWA Hall of Fame inductee announced, TNA ratings, AWA match listing

-WWE will hold the Smackdown/ECW tapings tonight in Des Moines, Ia. With the One Night Stand pay-per-view less than two weeks away, we should find out what the match will be for the vacant World Hvt. Championship. Given WWE's penchant for repeats, one can only assume it's another Undertaker vs. Edge match. At this point, only a Hell in a Cell match could spice things up enough to create interest. Meanwhile, ECW will be headlined by Kofi Kingston vs. Shelton Benjamin.
-Ric Flair attended Monday's NBA playoff game between the Spurs and the Hornets. Dot Net reader Brian Milici reports: "After every Chris Paul score the arena plays Flair's signature 'Woo!' Earlier this year Flair introduced the Hornets before a game broadcast on ABC against the Detroit Pistons." Too bad for Naitch that Shawn Michaels's favorite team came out on top in Game 7 last night.
-WrestleMania 24 comes out on DVD today. It's the first show WWE has released on Blu-ray. Of course, it's also available in the regular DVD format. The Blu-ray format is available for $29.95 at Amazon.com, while the regular DVD is $22.99. As a PS3 owner, I can tell you that the Blu-ray upgrade is totally worth the extra seven bucks.
-In the better late than never department, TNA Impact drew a 0.9 rating on Thursday, which matched the rating the show drew the week before. The show opened with a 1.05 rating and then topped the 0.9 only once during the remainder of the broadcast. I can just hear Dixie Carter now. Things are great. The writers are awesome. No worries. It's all good.
-Poll Results: Dot Net readers were looking forward to the Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels match more than anything else on Judgment Day, and clearly it lived up to their expectations. It was voted the highlight of the pay-per-view with 57 percent of the vote. Jeff Hardy vs. MVP received 14 percent of the vote and was the only other match that received more than 10 percent of the vote.
-The NWA is holding its 60th Anniversary show on June 7 in Atlanta, Ga. at Phillips Arena. In conjunction, the NWA is holding a Hall of Fame ceremony that will be emceed by Jim Cornette. The first inductee announced for this year is Tommy Rich, who will be facing Abdullah the Butcher on the show. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster. [Thanks to Keith Lipinski]
-In other Tommy Rich news, he's scheduled to appear at the Old School Championship Wrestling show in Goose Creek, S.C. on May 25. Check out OSCWonline.com for ticket info. [Thanks to Devin Cutting of ProwrestlingEvents.tk.]
-Devin also sent word that Gail Kim and Chris Masters will be appearing on the Big Time Wrestling event in Newark, Calif. on July 18. Check out BTWrestling.com.
-The following matches are listed for tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic show: Mondo Guerrero vs. Samoan Kid, Midnight Rockers vs. Arn Anderson and Richards, Khan squash, Crusher and Red Bastien vs. Ray Stevens and Nick Bockwinkel, Nasty Boys vs. Rock-n-Roll Express. The show was taped on Apr. 17, 1988.
