Dwayne Johnson comments on shying away from "The Rock" name, plus WWE developmental lineup, TNA pay-per-view location announced, AWA match listings

-WWE Raw sill beheld tonight in Kansas City, Mo. The company has yet to announce any matches for the show, but I assume we'll get at least a couple before the end of the day. As usual, Rich Twilling and I will be delivering a double dose of live coverage of Raw later tonight.
-Dwayne Johnson explained why he is shying away from "The Rock" monicker during an interview with City & Shore. "I never wanted to make an issue out of the name," Johnson said. "I’m aware that The Rock is my nickname; it will always be my nickname. It’s a pretty damn cool nickname. But I’m also aware that there’s a whole generation of kids who have no idea at all what I used to do or who The Rock even is. So the people who were around 10 years ago and knew me as The Rock and refer to me as that – that’s cool too." It's a good interview that touches on a variety of topics. You can check it out by clicking here.
-TNA announced last week that July 13 Victory Road pay-per-view will be held in Houston at the Reliant Center. Tickets go on sale May 30.
-Bret Hart will be signing autographs on June 7 at the Auto Shoppers in Bakersfield, Calif. from noon to two, and at the Fresno store from four to six later that day. WWE will be holding the Smackdown/ECW tapings later that night in Fresno. Let the rumors and speculation begin. [Thanks to Devin Cutting of ProwrestlingEvents.tk.]
Poll Results: 48 percent of Dot Net voters say Mike Adamle is improving, yet they still can't believe WWE puts him on television. 33 percent say he's still just terrible. 19 percent say he's is improving and is much better than he was in week one.
Poll Results: I posted a short-term poll on Sunday afternoon that asked readers to identify the WWE Judgment Day match they were most looking forward to. 57 percent voted for the Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho match. Only Triple H vs. Randy Orton (14 percent), and Undertaker vs. Edge (10 percent) received at least percent of the vote. It would have been interesting to see how many votes Jeff Hardy vs. MVP would have received had WWE been smart enough to advertise it in advance.
-WWE developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling is advertising the following matches for tomorrow night's show in New Port Richey, Fla.: Stu Sanders and Drew McIntyre vs. D.H. Smith and T.J. Wilson for the Florida Tag Titles, Victoria and Roucka and Daisy vs. Taryn Terrell and The Bellas, Bryan Kelly vs. Big Rob, Afa and Tyrone Jones vs. Eric Perez and Eddie Colon, Sheamus O'Shaunessy vs. Gabe Tuft, Jay Bradley and Mondo vs. Colt Cabana and Atlas DaBone, Sin Bowdee vs. Rycklon, Jack Gabriel vs. Kafu, Shawn Spears vs. Mr. Yamamoto.
-The following matches are being advertised for tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic show: Ricky Rice squash, Badd Company squash, Arn Anderson vs. Rocky Mountain Thunder, Rock-n-Roll Express squash, Soldat Ustinov and Khan vs. Baron Von Raschke and Ray Stevens. The show was taped on April 10, 1988.
