May 14, 2008 - 08:55 AM

-Tuesday was not the best day for The Hulkster. Tampa Tribune columnist Daniel Ruth had some harsh words for "phony wrestler" Hulk Hogan and his family yesterday. He wrote that Nick Bollea is serving a jail term for "simply being a complete, unmitigated redneck boob." To read the full article, click here.

-Meanwhile, the season premier of "American Gladiators" bombed in the overnight ratings with a 2.9, according to Zap2It.com. This is also lousy news for TNA wrestler Matt Morgan, who is scheduled to debut in the middle of the season as gladiator "Beast." The show finished ahead of only The CW's "Gossip Girl" in the overnight ratings. Ouch. For more information, visit Zap2It.com.

-Legendary women's wrestler Penny Banner passed away on Tuesday after a long bout with cancer.

-In related news, Bill Watts comments on the deaths of Banner and Leo Garibaldi via email, which Jim Ross published at JRsBarBQ.com.

-PWG Champion Human Tornado is collecting donations at his Myspace page to help pay for his medical expenses. For more information on how you can help, click here.

-Paul Heyman's latest "Hustle" received play on AntiMusic.com yesterday. And why wouldn't it? It featured Duff F'n McKagan. In case you missed it yesterday, you can check out "The Heyman Hustle" at here.

-WWE Backlash will be held in Providence, R.I. at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Apr. 26, 2009. [Thanks to Devin Cutting of ProwrestlingEvents.tk.]

-Jerry Lynn, Austin Aries, and Tyler Black are featured in matches on the upcoming AAW DVD release. For more information, visit AAWrestling.com.

-The following matches are being advertised for tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic show: Soldat Ustinov vs. Dewey "Missing Link" Robertson, Ricky Morton vs. the legendary Dennis Stamp, Greg Gagne squash, Iron Sheik vs. Baron Von Raschke, Badd Company vs. Midnight Rockers.
