WWE Backlash lineup for Sunday, Floyd Mayweather's latest crossover publicity appearance, AWA match listings
Apr 25, 2008 - 08:56 AM

-WWE's only show this weekend will be the Backlash pay-per-view on Sunday in Baltimore, Md. Here's the advertised lineup: Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Triple H vs. JBL in a four-way elimination match for the WWE Title, Undertaker vs. Edge for the World Hvt. Title, Shawn Michaels vs. Batita with Chris Jericho as special referee, Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero for the ECW Title, Big Show vs. Great Khali, MVP vs. Matt Hardy for the U.S. Title, 12-Diva tag match.

-I'll have more to say about the Backlash pay-per-view in my preview and predictions column later today. As always, I'll be covering the show live on Sunday night.

-Smackdown tonight features Undertaker vs. Batista for the WWE Title. At this point, I'm planning to cover the show live, but that could change. Either way, Rich Twilling will post his review of the show after it airs on the West Coast. And I'll be by tomorrow morning with the WWE Smackdown Hitlist.

-First it was "Dancing With the Stars," then it was WrestleMania 24, and now he's moved on to auto racing. No, Floyd Maywether isn't getting behind the wheel. However, he will be waving the green flag to start the Indy 500, according to an AP story posted at WLFI.com. The story notes that driver Helio Castroneves, who beat out Mayweather to win "Dancing With the Stars," will be in the actual race.

-Poll Results: 49 percent of Dot Net voters said they were looking forward to the Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle match more than the two big Smackdown matches this week. 27 percent said they were looking forward to Edge vs. C.M. Punk more than the other two matches, and only 25 percent of the Dot Net readers said they were looking forward to the Undertaker vs. Batista match more than the other two matches.

-Irvin Muchnick continues to issue blog updates on his investigation regarding the phone logs taken from Chris Benoit's home in the days leading up to the murders. You can keep tabs on Muchnick's findings by clicking here.

-The following matches are being advertised for tonight's AWA on ESPN Classic show: Badd Company (Pat Tanaka and Paul Diamond) in a squash, Manny Fernandez squash match, Wahoo McDaniel vs. Matt Striker (no, not that WWE wrestler unless he started wrestling when he was like seven years old), Madusa vs. Wendi Richter for the AWA Women's Title, Samoan Swat Team vs. Michael Hayes and Steve Cox for the World Class Tag Titles.
