TNA Impact replay tonight with Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam, WWE Superstars main event with NXT involvement, Jonny Fairplay, former WWE announcer Kevin Kelly interview on his new gig with ROH, WXW event
Mar 11, 2010 - 09:05 AM

-WWE Superstars will be headlined by Christian and MVP vs. Carlito and Chavo Guerrero in a tag match. The WWE website notes that NXT rookies Heath Slater and Michael Tarver will be in the corners of their respective mentors. Nothing against the guys working the match, but I'd be more likely to watch the show if the NXT wrestlers were in the match. That said, the masses may not feel the same way. Dot Net contributor Chris Shore will be covering the show live tonight beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT.

-Three-hour Thursday has turned into a one-hour night as far as first-run shows are concerned now that TNA Impact has moved to Monday nights. However, Spike TV is replaying Monday's show tonight in the old Impact time slot beginning at 8:00 p.m. CT. The show is not listed on my onscreen guide for next Thursday night, so it appears this will not be a weekly occurrence, as one can only assume that they don't want viewers to get in the habit of thinking they can skip or miss parts of the show on Monday and just catch a Thursday replay.

-For those who didn't watch Impact, the majority of the readers who voted in our poll felt that Impact was more entertaining than WWE Raw was on Monday. I agree with that assessment, and would recommend that you catch the replay and give the show a chance tonight. For those who have been living under a rock for the past few days, the show featured the returns of Jeff Hardy and Sting, and the TNA debut of Rob Van Dam.

-Dot Net Members will be listening to the second part of the Q&A audio session later today. I will answer their latest pro wrestling questions (and some additional non-wrestling questions). Plus, they will also be hearing the news-filled Dot Net Weekly audio show on Friday. You can gain access to all Dot Net Audio and the various perks of membership by signing up for just $5 per month via the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.

-Reality television star and pro wrestling personality Jonny Fairplay is celebrating his 36th birthday today. He was born on March 11, 1974.

-Former WWE announcer Kevin Kelly was interviewed by Tommy Fierro of the the Who's Slamming Who podcast earlier this week. Kelly, who is joining the ROH broadcast team for the Apr. 3 "Big Bang" online pay-per-view, explained how he hooked up with ROH. He also discussed the WWE Raw vs. TNA Impact head-to-head battle. You can listen to the full interview at WhosSlammingWho.com.

-World Xtreme Wrestling is running a show on Apr. 10 in Minneola, Fla. at the Rec. Center. The promotion is run by WWE Hall of Famer Afa "The Wild Samoan", who issued a press release to announce that they will be holding a match that is essentially a Royal Rumble to determine the No. 1 contender to the WXW Title. For more on the show and the promotion, visit WXWwrestling.com.

-There are no pro wrestling shows listed for ESPN Classic today.
