WWE Raw and TNA Impact go head-to head (correspondents needed for both shows), both shows advertising big main events, ROH TV Title tournament starts tonight on HDNet, Bruce Prichard (a/k/a Brother Love)
Mar 8, 2010 - 09:01 AM |
-The Monday Night Wars begin again tonight with WWE Raw and TNA Impact going directly head-to-head with both shows beginning at 8:00 p.m. CT. I will be covering TNA Impact tonight live on the site, while Dot Net ace contributor Chris Shore is handling the Raw coverage tonight for the vacationing Rich Twilling, who will return one week from today.
-Dot Net Members can look forward to hearing audio updates on both shows. I will record a TNA Impact audio late tonight, and will post the WWE Raw audio update on Tuesday morning. Once Rich returns next Monday, we'll have audio recaps available for both shows late Monday nights. You can access all the perks of membership for only $5 per month by visiting the Dot Net Members' Signup Page.
-The WWE Raw show takes place in Portland, Ore. and features the advertised main event of Vince McMahon vs. John Cena in what I assume will be more of an angle than an actual match between the two. WWE is not advertising any dark matches for the show on the Rose Garden website.
-TNA will broadcast live from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. and are countering with the Hulk Hogan and Abyss vs. Ric Flair and A.J. Styles tag team match. Hogan also teased that Rob Van Dam will make his television debut tonight. Dixie Carter announced the following day that Sting has re-signed and will also appear on the show.
-Tonight's ROH on HDNet television show will feature first-round matches in the ROH television tournament. For those who missed it, the new champion was crowned over the weekend at the latest television tapings in Philadelphia, Pa. I won't spoil it here, but you can find out the identity of the first ROH TV Champion by viewing the ROH TV Taping report from Friday night.
-Former WWE office worker and performer Bruce Prichard, who portrayed the great Brother Love character, celebrated his 47th birthday on Sunday. He was born on March 7, 1963. Prichard has appeared on the Total Extreme Comedy Tour with Mick Foley and Colt Cabana. To read more on the tour, check out TotalExtremeComedy.com.
-Special thanks to Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com for featuring Prowrestling.net in the daily newsfeed.
-There's a ton of wrestling on television tonight, so don't be too disappointed that ESPN Classic is not airing any pro wrestling shows today.
