WWE Smackdown and TNA Imapct tapings today, notes on the understaffed WWE creative team story, Jimmy Snuka, Chris Masters
By Jason Powell Apr 15, 2008 - 08:50 AM

-WWE is taping Smackdown today in London, England. The show will be headlined by the Undertaker vs. Batista non-title match. If you attend the show, please send a review to dotnetjason@gmail.com.

-TNA is taping Thursday's Impact tonight in Orlando, Fla. The company has announced the following matches and events will appear on the show: Samoa Joe appears as TNA Champion, A.J. Styles and Tomko defend the TNA Tag Titles against LAX and Eric Young and Kaz in a three-way, Awesome Kong vs. Roxxi Laveaux for the TNA Knockouts Title, Christian Cage and Rhino vs. Team 3D.

-Dot Net Exclusive News update: Regarding the story about the Understaffed WWE creative team, a well-placed source reports that Michael Hayes has been taking off the week after WrestleMania for several years. And while Brian Gewirtz attempts to take off on Tuesdays, there are plenty of times he gets called in to help at the Smackdown tapings.

-In case you missed it, the latest Dot Net Podcast was posted on Monday afternoon. You can find out my thoughts on whether TNA should continue to feature MMA-style matches in the main event slot by clicking here.

Today's Poll: What was the best segment on last night's Raw? To check out the list of options, click here.

Poll Results: 32 percent of Dot Net voters thought the MMA-style match between Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe was great and would like to see that style featured more often. An equal percentage of voters liked the match, but hope the MMA style doesn't become a fixture in the main event matches. 26 percent didn't care for the MMA-like spots. And nine percent didn't notice the MMA spots. I offered my thoughts on the MMA-style matches in the Dot Net Podcast and in the TNA Lockdown Hitlist yesterday.

-The Score in Canada will air next week's three-hour edition of Raw at 9:00 p.m. (EST) with replays later at midnight, and again on Apr. 22 at 3:00 p.m. [Thanks to Devin Cutting]

-WWE Developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling is advertising the following matches for tonight's show in New Port Richey at the Bourbon Street Night Club: Nick Nemeth and Brad Allen defend the tag titles against the winner of a match earlier in the show, Drew McIntyre and Stu Sanders vs. Eddie Colon and Eric Perez for the shot at the tag titles, Jay Bradley and Shawn Spears vs. Greg Jackson and Lupe Martinez, Mike Kruell and Sheamus O'Shaunessy vs. Matt Sydal and BIg Rob, Tommy Taylor vs. Colt Cabana, Heath Miller and Jack Gabriel vs. Sin Bowdee and Kafu, Johnny Curtus and Gabe Tuft vs. Bryan Kelly and Rycklon, Mr. Yamamoto vs. Atlas Dabone, Chris Gray vs. Charles Evans.
