-Happy Canada Day! For non-Canadian readers, I have an assignment for you. Have a Labatt Blue (or seven), listen to three Rush songs, and watch at least 30 minutes of the NHL Network in honor of my neighbors a few hundred miles north. I'd like to personally thank them for Justin Morneau, Tricia Helfer, Michael J. Fox, most of my favorite NHL players, and the cinematic masterpiece "Strange Brew."
-WWE is taping next week's WWE Smackdown and ECW shows in Bakersfield, Calif. The advertised main event is a rematch from last week's Smackdown show with Edge and Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy in a "rage in the cage" match. There's no mention of the tag titles being on the line, and I assume this is a dark match main event.
-We are looking for correspondents who attend tonight's Smackdown taping in Bakersfield. If you can help out, please contact me right away at dotnetjason@gmail.com.
-For those of you wondering why WWE is taping next week's television shows this week, it's because they are kicking off an overseas tour on July 3 in New Zealand. The tour includes four nights in Australia, two nights in Japan, and a stop in the Philippines on July 10. We are seeking reports from our overseas readers who attend those shows, so please use the address above and let me know if you can help out.
