-It's Election Day in the United States. Pro wrestling fans will be keeping a close eye on the senate race in Connecticut, where Republican Linda McMahon and Democrat Chris Murphy are vying to replace retiring Senator Joe Lieberman. We will keep you updated on the race tonight as relevant news breaks.

-WWE is airing a Super Smackdown special on Syfy tonight beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT. The show is headlined by Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio in a Falls Count Anywhere match. Join Chris Shore and Jake Barnett for live coverage of the show as it airs on Syfy beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT.

-WWE Super Smackdown will be taped today in Birmingham, England at LG Arena, which also hosted Monday's Raw. The advertised talent pool for the taping includes Sheamus, Randy Orton, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Rey Mysterio, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, and Natalya.

-The WWE Raw crew will be in Glasgow, Scotland at Braehead Arena for a live event today with the following advertised talent pool: John Cena, C.M. Punk, Ryback, Kane, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Tensai, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, Antonio Cesaro, Eve, and A.J. Lee.

-TNA wrestler Magnus (a/k/a Nick Aldis) is 26 today. He was born on November 6, 1986.

-Former AWA Tag Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion Ken Patera is 70 today. He was born on November 6, 1942. Patera earned a gold medal in weightlifting at the Pan American Games in 1971. At last check, he was living in the Twin Cities area. He promoted independent shows in the area at one time, but I don't believe he's still doing so.

-The following matches are listed for the 11:00 p.m. CT airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: Doug Somers vs. Gunther, Jimmy Snuka vs. Fargo, The Midnight Rockers vs. Larry Zbyszko and Mr. Go. The show was taped or had an original air date of July 31, 1986.
