-WWE SummerSlam takes place on Sunday in Los Angeles, California at Staple Center. The event is headlined by John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship, and Brock Lesnar vs. C.M. Punk. Join Chris Shore and I for live coverage of SummerSlam beginning with the one-hour free preview show featuring Dean Ambrose vs. Rob Van Dam for the U.S. Title on Sunday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT.

-The late Fritz Von Erich (a/k/a Jack Adkisson) was born on this date in 1929. The longtime pro wrestler and World Class Championship Wrestling promoter died on September 10, 1997 due to brain and lung cancer. The Von Erich Family was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.

-The late "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch (a/k/a Hoyt Richard Murdoch) was born on this date in 1946. He died of a heart attack on June 15, 1996.
