-The WWE Smackdown taping takes place tonight in Topeka, Kansas at Landon Arena. It was announced on Raw that C.M. Punk will appear on Friday's television show. The rest of the WWE crew will be flying overseas for a pair of shows in Japan that take place on July 4-5 in Tokyo at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

-Former WWE wrestler Scotty Too Hotty (a/k/a Scott Garland) is 40 today. He was born on July 2, 1973. Garland recently made headlines for graduating from Lake Tech Fire Academy in Tavares, Florida. He still takes occasional indy bookings in addition to working as a firefighter.

-WWE referee Charles Robinson is 49 today. He was born on July 2, 1964. He has been working as a referee in the industry since 1997.

-The late Mike DiBiase died on this date in 1989. DiBiase died in the ring when he suffered a heart attack, though he was officially pronounced dead at the hospital. He is the adoptive father of WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase, and the grandfather of current WWE wrestler Ted DiBiase Jr.

-The following matches are listed for the 11:00 p.m. CT airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: Col. DeBeers vs. Rev. Pappas, Doug Somers and Buddy Rose vs. Hernandez and White, Shawn Michaels vs. Buddy Rose, The Barbarian vs. Sgt. Slaughter. The show has a tape listing of April 20, 1986.

-The following matches are listed for the 12:00 a.m. CT airing of the AWA on ESPN Classic: Marty Jannetty vs. Jake Milliman, Curtis vs. White, Doug Somers vs. Scott Hall, Mongolian Stomper, Barbarian, and Boris Zhukov vs. Curt Hennig, Jerry Blackwell, and Sgt. Slaughter.
