-The WWE Smackdown taping will be held tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Thomas and Mack Center. WWE is not advertising any roulette wheel silliness. Do you believe in miracles? The advertised talent for the show features Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, The Shield, Rob Van Dam, Wade Barrett, Mark Henry, Damien Sandow, Cody Rhodes, The Wyatt Family, A.J. Lee, and Kaitlyn.

-The advertised main events of tonight's Smackdown taping are World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan, and Rob Van Dam, Big Show, and Mark Henry vs. The Shield in a six-man tag match.

-WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter (a/k/a Robert Remus) is 65 today. He was born on August 27, 1948. Sarge was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 by longtime friend and fellow Hall of Famer Pat Patterson.

-WWE star The Great Khali (Dalip Singh Rana) is 41 today. He was born on August 27, 1972. Khali first worked in 2000 as Giant Singh while working for All Pro Wrestling in California and later New Japan Pro Wrestling. He has been working for WWE since January 2006.

-Former WWE and ECW wrestler Jazz (a/k/a Carlene Moore-Begnaud) is 40 today. She was born on August 27, 1973. In recent years, she has worked for the Women Superstars Uncensored promotion in Florida. She is married to former WWE wrestler Rodney Mack and the couple have twin girls that were born in 2008.

-The late Luna Vachon (a/k/a Gertrude Vachon) died on August 27, 2010 at age 48. She was found dead by her mother in Florida and her death was ruled an overdose from oxycodone and benzodiazepine. She had gone through WWE sponsored rehab the year prior to her death. Her Wikipedia page notes that she was buried at the rance formerly owned by her friend and godfather Andre the Giant.

-A block of Global Supercard Wrestling airs on ESPN Classic tonight from 8:00 p.m. CT to 1:00 a.m. There are no wrestlers listed in the previews.
