-The featured match on WWE Main Event is Big E Langston facing Alberto Del Rio in a rematch from Monday's Raw television show. The only match advertised for the show had been Wade Barrett vs. Sin Cara for the Intercontinental Title, but that match was not taped last night even though both men were at the Smackdown taping. -The late Brian Pillman was born on this date in 1962. He died on October 5, 1997 at the age of 35 in Bloomington, Minnesota. An autopsy showed that a previously undetected heart condition arteriosclerotic heart disease led to his death. He was also well known for heavy partying. Pillman worked a WWE live event the night before, which I attended in Minnesota. He was scheduled to work the WWE Badd Blood pay-per-view event on the night of his passing. The show went on as scheduled.

-Former pro wrestler Scott Putski (a/k/a James Bednarski) is 47 today. He was born on May 22, 1966. He is the son of WWE wrestler Ivan Putski. Scott also had a run with the company. His last in-ring date is listed as July 26, 2003.

-Former TNA Knockout Traci Brooks (a/k/a Tracy Brookshaw) is 38 today. She was born on May 22, 1975. She is married to TNA wrestler Frankie Kazarian (a/k/a Frank B. Gerdelman).

-Former TNA wrestler A-1 (a/k/a Alastair Ralphs) is 36 today. He was born on May 22, 1977. I always thought it was a shame that he didn't feud with a wrestler named Heinz 57.
