Dot Net Awards: 2010 Best Female Act
Feb 19, 2011 - 02:52 PM |
Dot Net readers voted on a variety of 2010 awards throughout January and February. The following are the poll results of the Best Female Act category.
(1) Vickie Guerrero 17 percent
(2) Natalya: 11 percent
(3) Madison Rayne: 11 percent
(4) Mickie James: 8 percent
(5) Michelle McCool: 8 percent
Others: 45 percent
Chris Shore's Thoughts: I think the key word in this award name is act. If it had been wrestler, my answer would have been different, obviously. But once the word act is introduced, there can be no question that Vickie Guerrero was the best female act of 2010. Hell, she may have been the best single female act in the last five years (the Beautiful People was a great act, but a group). Her ability to draw a metric-f--- ton of heat and constantly finding ways to reinvent herself (the cougar act is pretty fantastic when you think about it) separates her from the pack by leaps and bounds. The readers and I are in solid agreement on Vickie.
Jason Powell's Thoughts: I wholeheartedly agree with the selection of Vickie Guerrero. No one gets more consistent heat than Vickie, and that includes the top male heels in WWE. She's the woman that WWE fans love to hate. Her story is awesome and it's been a real treat to watch her improve over the years. If her daughter Shaul, a developmental wrestler, can garner even a quarter of the heat that her mom has, then she's going to have a tremendous career.
It was nice to see Natalya get a push late in the year, but she's become the Mickie James-like target of jokes in early 2011. Speaking of Mickie, she's been disappointing in TNA thus far. Madison went from being the third Beautiful Person to becoming a breakout star of the Knockouts Division. Love her or hate her, there's no denying that McCool has an excellent work ethic and is one of the better Diva in-ring performers. It will be interesting to see where Awesome Kong ranks next year now that she's signed with WWE.
