WWE NXT Hit List: Sami Zayn vs. Tyson Kidd, Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss, Adam Rose vs. Jason Jordan, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady vs. The VaudeVillains, Xavier Woods vs. CJ Parker
WWE NXT Hits
Sami Zayn vs. Tyson Kidd: Were you expecting anything less than a hit from these two? While this wasn't exactly a "leave it all in the ring" epic, it was a great TV main event, with a slightly surprising ending. I don't know if it's just because we have become slightly conditioned to seeing Zayn lose "big" matches or what, but I certainly wasn't expecting a clean tap out loss for Kidd. Fortunately, due to the good match, Kidd lost nothing in the loss, and it may actually just add to the good character work he has been doing.
Adam Rose vs. Jason Jordan: I was a little apprehensive going in, as I'm very much over the Rose honeymoon period, but I actually enjoyed this match. Rose has finally added a few more strings to his bow in terms of move variety, and Jordan showed a lot of raw potential, that I hope can be tapped into and refined at some point along the line.
Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss: I feared the worst after an ugly botch early on, but Sasha seemed to take control, and the result was a nice showcase of both ladies. Bliss still needs work before her true potential can be seen, but both ladies have time on their hands, as they are both 22. They are also both younger than me, and that has made me feel unexpectedly, and unnecessarily, ancient at the age of 23.
Xavier Woods vs. CJ Parker: Borderline hit for what was a decent match for the most part. The end, however, was awful, though it's hard to know who was at fault for the awkward roll-up pin.
Overall Show: This may sound bizarre, but I considered giving this show a miss. The thought crossed my mind that, while not bad, outside of the main event this week was completely skipable, and I hold NXT to higher standards than that. The show next week will get a miss if it's this sleepy again.
WWE NXT Misses
Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady vs. The VaudeVillains: I can't possibly give the match a hit based on how little there was of it, but the fact that three, distinct teams had an interaction like this is good news for the tag division. I know that is not exactly lofty praise, but I'll take baby steps towards progress right now.
