7/26 WWE in Edmonton results: Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt, Cesaro vs. Big Show, Natalya and Emma vs. Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes, The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Championship

WWE Live Event
Edmonton, Alberta
Report by Dot Net reader Adam Patrick D.

Eden was the ring announcer. Local radio personality, Yukon Jack warmed up the crowd before the national anthem.

1. R-Truth defeated Fandango. Standard opener, nothing special.

2. Tyson Kidd, Diego and El Torito beat Titus O'Neil, Heath Slater and Hornswoggle in a six-man tag team match. Good comedy, Torito pinned 'Swoggle. Tyson Kidd had good hometown cheers.

3. The Miz defeated Kofi Kingston to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Way too much stalling for a house show match. The action didn't really start until about 10 minutes in with Miz faking an injury.

4. The Usos defeated Luke Harper and Erick Rowan to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. Good action. The Usos were over.

Intermission

5. Natalya and Emma defeated Rosa Mendes and Alicia Fox in a Divas tag match with Eva Marie as guest referee. The finish looked botched by the timekeeper, who rang the bell errantly.

6. Big Show over Cesaro. Big Show was OVER! The crowd absolutely loved him. Show won with a chokeslam.

7. Chris Jericho defeated Bray Wyatt. The Wyatt Family and The Usos got involved. Jericho won with a Codebreaker with a chair. Jericho was majorly over.

Notes: Good show for a split roster. I gotta say it's really disappointing how much merchandise was available for John Cena (and other non-attending superstars), when you knew he wasn't going to be there. You do get the feeling a little bit of magic is lost with these kids when Cena doesn't do these house show circuits, especially when in-house commercials still use him to promote almost everything, and the WWE may only come to your town once every year or two. That's my two cents.
