7/12 WWE at MSG results: Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton, Rusev vs. Jack Swagger in an impromptu match, Triple H and Ric Flair at ringside for John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt main event

WWE Live Event
New York, New York at Madison Square Garden
Report by Dot Net reader Jeff Eichler

1. Rusev (w/Lana) beat R-Truth. Decent action with R-Truth getting crushed at 3:45. The surprise came during Rusev's post match celebration. Jack Swagger ran to the ring with Zeb Colter. Swagger clotheslined Rusev over the top rope. Colter challenged Rusev. Lana accepted.

2. Rusev (w/Lana) beat Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter). Rusev quickly kicked Swagger in the head and pinned him. Swagger received the second biggest pop of the night.

A Bray Wyatt promo aired.

3. "Fearless" Nikki Bella and Natalya beat Sasha Banks and Charlotte. Decent action. The end showed Natalya and Nikki doing a mock Hart Foundation finishing move (The Hart Attack) on Banks. Then Nikki hit the Rack Attack and pinned Banks at 9:10.

4. Bo Dallas best Zack Ryder at 10:00. A lot of comedy from Dallas. He also had quite a bit of fans at the Garden.

5. The Uso Brothers beat Goldust & Statdust and Ryback & Curtis Axel to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. The Usos were over, but Stardust was WAY over. Ryback did his "Feed Me More!" The action started slow and even had some dancing from both Rhodes, The Usos, and Ryback. The Usos won when they pinned Curtis Axel.

A video aired for Connor "The Crusher" Michalek.

6. Sheamus defeated Alberto Del Rio to retain the U.S. Championship. Slow at first. Sheamus had a decent pop, while ADR had none whatsoever. ADR came out with a crutch and his knee taped. He claimed he hurt his knee and was going to forfeit. Then he attacked Sheamus with the crutch. The action was good and had some great spots. Sheamus won with the Brogue Kick at 10:33.

Intermission

Next was Fandango vs. Adam Rose. Rose had a good pop. It was voted they would have a dance off. Fandango danced first. Adam Rose started to dance to "Sexy And I Know It" then Fandango attacked him. Rose rebounded then left. Summer Rae's music hit. Summer and Layla ran down and beat up Fandango. Afterward, the two danced and even teased kissing each other, much to the adult males' delight.

7. Chris Jericho defeated Randy Orton. Y2J won with a code breaker at 22:45. Good action and Orton left with a bloody mouth.

8. John Cena beat Bray Wyatt to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a 20-man Lumberjack Match. Ric Flair led ten lumberjacks and Triple H led 10 of his own lumberjacks. Good action with the end having Triple H and Ric Flair getting involved. Flair chopped and punched Wyatt. Triple H hit a Pedigree on Cena for a near fall for Wyatt. Cena won at 17:25 with the STF. Triple H challenged Cena. Flair snuck up behind Triple H and punched him. Then Cena delivered the AA to Triple H and sent the crowd home happy. He then saluted Ric Flair. Good show.
